2017 - 2019
As Monitoring and Evaluation Manager for Hull 2017 from 2017-2018, and later as an independent consultant for the University of Hull, I took a leading role in data collection, analysis and reporting for the evaluation programme that accompanied the UK City of Culture year.
I contributed to the overall evaluation report which can be found here, as well as leading on the evaluation of the £3m heritage strand and the 'No Limits' learning and participation programme for children and young people.
2018 - 2020
I undertook interviews and focus groups with the staff team at Back to Ours (Hull) to understand the lessons learnt from their methodologies and processes. My report was drawn upon for the final evaluation report of Phase 1 of Back to Ours Creative People and Places programme which can be found here.
2018 & 2019
For Greenwich and Docklands International Festival (GDIF) in 2018 and 2019, I provided audience monitoring and evaluation services for outdoor arts performances.
2025
For IGLYO's Activist Academy 2025 in Tampere, Finland, I designed and facilitated a workshop for LGBTQ+ youth activists on "Volunteer Engagement and Designing Engagement Models for Grassroots Groups".
2011 - 2022
From 2011 to 2022, I acted as an event organiser, facilitator and rapporteur for a variety of United Nations events. I have co-ordinated side events for the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts at the UN Commission on the Status of Women in New York, and at Rio+20 UN Conference of Sustainable Development in Brazil. I was a facilitator and rapporteur for the UNFPA Global Youth Forum 2012 in Bali and for the World Conference on Youth 2014 in Sri Lanka.
More recently I represented the International Falcon Movement - Socialist Education International from 2019-2022 as a member of the Generation Equality Youth Task Force convened by UN Women, and co-ordinated online events centering queer youth voices at the Generation Equality Forums. The outputs from these later events have been captured here.
2021-2022
Through my role as Chief Executive at The Kite Trust, I worked with Dr Felix Turney on the outputs from an action research project seeking to understand LGBTQ+ young people's expereinces of seeking mental health support in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. These outputs can be found here.
2014 - 2018
This collaborative doctoral project, in partnership with Museums Sheffield, examined a redevelopment project at Weston Park Museum from 2014-2016. The research addressed the question: “What is the relationship between adults’ curiosity, meaning-making and innovation, and museum space?”. The full thesis is available here.
2020-2025
In the first three months of my role as Chief Executive at The Kite Trust, I developed the organisation's 5-year strategic plan 'Cultivating Community' through consultation with young people, volunteers, staff, trustees and other stakeholders. The plan, theory of change and accompanying monitoring and evaluation framework supported the organisation to increase it's turnover fourfold across a time period including COVID lockdowns and the cost of living crisis.
2024
On behalf of Trans Europe and Central Asia (TGEU), I hosted and moderated a panel discussion on the rights and situation of trans people across Europe as part of the Human Rights Conference at Europride.
2024
I hosted a panel discussion on gender and folk music for Cambridge Folk Festival 2024 with trans and gender diverse musicians performing at the festival.
