Pip trained as an archaeologist and museologist before becoming Chief Executive of The Kite Trust, Cambridgeshire's LGBTQ+ youth charity, from 2019-2025. Their combined local queer and heritage experience has led to the creation of two talks available to groups, heritage sites and museums:
Queer Cambridgeshire folk have played a significant role in the development of the LGBTQ+ community both locally and nationally over the last century. From local's roles in the fight to decriminalize homosexuality, to being the first to achieve political office whilst open about their identities - join Dr Pip Jamie Gardner in this celebration of local queer heroes.

Pride has developed as a protest, community gathering space and celebration from its roots in major cities in the early 1970s to a much wider presence in our towns, villages and rural areas in the 21st century. This talk explores where LGBTQ+ Pride came from, how it's grown locally and where it might be going in the years to come.
Format: presentation followed by Q&A, up to 1 hr
The cost of a talk is typically £150 + travel costs, with discounts available for smaller groups and charities. If you're interested in booking either of these talks, or would like to discuss a bespoke presentation, please contact us.
